Description

If there’s anybody out there that hasn’t heard of Reggie And The Full Effect, they’ve been living under a rock for some time now. A while has passed since they were hitting up the charts on MTV and FUSE; now they return with their latest effort, but does it deliver?

Having very little interest in this band in the span of their career, I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this album to begin with. I was expecting the similar sound of synthpop that made them explode into the mainstream. The first track caught me with a left hook as it went into full out hardcore that made me wonder if I was actually listening to Reggie. I just wouldn’t go into it expecting the softer side of the band. If you aren’t a huge fan of the hardcore genre, don’t worry; the track quickly cuts into the familiar sound of the band. The album has the chance to convert a lot of fans that hated their short lived mainstream success. That said, if you’re a fan of their old stuff, you’ll love the effort put into return back to their roots. If you’re expecting catchy hooks from their older singles look elsewhere.

Having finished the album in a little over half an hour; I have to say it kicked my ass. No way did I expect an album like this to ever be released by this band. Having hated all previous efforts by this band they really picked up the slack and proved me wrong. I say no matter who you are to give this album a couple listens before making a judgment. It’ll be an album you either love or hate; there is no in between.
