Moving Mountains are epic. Epic in the sense that they are trying what their name suggests – They are the soundtrack for an impossible task and endless journey. Moving Mountains are fearless explorers in the human psyche and every booming drum beat and spatial vocals bellow across the spectrum.

It’s astonishing that this is a debut, usually it takes a few years for bands to find their groove and experiment with different sounds, but MM are writing a fucking novel here – they stop at nothing and take no prisoners and Pneuma is a monumental achievement in what music can be and what a modern album can accomplish. Its bands like this, and like their older brethren Isis (to an extent, MM are less metal and more rock) that just make music enjoyable and are a calming reminder that there are artists out there in pursuit of something greater, something unique.

If you enjoy rock with a spatial twist, like Explosions in the Sky or even Brand New (not as cheesy, or scene) then I suggest you pick up Moving Mountains Pneuma (means breathe in Greek).
