Description
The Golden Age pretty much have all the necessary elements to a hardcore record, including top-notch production and tight musicianship. Hailing from Corpus Christi, Texas (well away from any threat of snow) and released on Words of War records, they play a tightly wound version of hardcore that is sincere and represents the current climate of America.
TGA steps away from beating posi-messages into the minds of their listeners by not writing preachy songs about what is right for you and your scene, but rather take a method from punkrock and discuss the political nature (especially since their state his home to the Bush legacy) in their songs that truly wish to pass their torch of knowledge and power onto the masses hopefully widening some eyes and opening some minds.
The record is full of gang vocals, breakdowns, tight drumming, blazing guitars and smart vocals – exactly the kind of record this reviewer eats for breakfast and it is very clear that TGA has put their heart and soul behind this release, their blood is poured over each track and stops at nothing to bring you only the best.
I’ll leave you with a sampling of just what I’m talking about here – Fabian’s vocals and the lyrics he sings are with conviction; this is the real deal. Standing hard against waves of division/ yeah my eyes burned with tears and sacrifices were made/ and we lost a few but we gained even more/ some said goodbye but we won’t forget.
A fine addition to any music lover’s collection.
