Description
This little gem comes from New York and for only being 3 tracks, it packs quite a punch. Damemas are like a dirtier, gritty version of a mash up between The Strokes and The Black Keys – There’s definitely a rock and roll vibe with some solo guitar work and really scratchy, distant vocals that make it seem this record was recorded in some Brooklyn bar’s basement.
Damemas do a pretty good job of filling the sound by utilizing the fuzz effects guitar pedal, peppering the songs with guitar solos and hammering tom drums and if you like this style, you will love Damemas.
I only wish they gave us more variety and released a full e.p even, more then just 3 tracks – you really start to get into it and the ride is over quickly, in under 11 minutes. With all the trouble of recording and packaging a release, why not add a few more tracks to help take the edge off and satisfy our needs for grit-rock.
