Description
There is that old adage, “Keep it simple, stupid” which is exactly what this group from Brooklyn aim to do. From the busy streets of New York come a quite simple threesome, a guy a girl and a guitar and some songs.
Since the most popular guy/girl combo is the White Stripes, we can look at The New Dress in a similar fashion, but less pretentious, less mainstream, less trite and certainly less instruments as well. They offer something the other duo does not though, that’s of true hard-work and honesty in their music and it becomes enjoyable, listening to the simplicity of the music – nothing is lost, their message is plain and clear and without any snazzy instruments to help them cover up some poor song writing skills, the lyrics have to be that much stronger.
This album is kind of like if you walked around naked everywhere, what you see (hear) is what you get - 13 songs about working-class politics sung by a guy and a girl whilst playing guitar. That’s it. User reviews There are no user reviews for this item. To write a review please register or login. Powered by jReviews |
